Pro and Bulk Eugurt do not come with starter culture. They are designed with economy in mind and can be sub-cultured from previous eugurt batches (Eugurt Starter).
If not sub-culturing from a previous eugurt batch or other live culture please visit our culture page to purchase culture separately (Eugurt Cultures). Also, if a certified dairy-free starter culture is not required this is an excellent option when sub-culturing from other yogurts.
Family Size can be used to sub-culture from a previous Eugurt Starter Size, but you can also purchase culture separately for direct pitch or even sub-culture from store-bought yogurt or yogurt alternative.
At one a day for an individual this is enough for a whole month. For a family of four at one a day it will last a week. Portion sizes are (~5.3 oz/150g). Family and Bulk size Eugurt comes with a single portion size scoop for ultimate testing (one scoop is enough for a single eugurt). This means you can do large or small batches and even single size eugurts. Making individual portions you can try different sugars/ sweeteners and lengths of incubation to find your perfect sweetness and tartness level.
So have some fun! Like it sweet? Use more sugar. Like it mildly sweet? Use less sugar. Try it with table sugar, turbinado, sucanat, rapadura, organic sugars, maple syrup, honey, or anything number of other sugars. Also use the minimum for culturing and add your sugars or sweeteners with any mix-ins you like after culturing.
